It's finally here.. The long awaited hospital bag post! It just so happens that our little guy is finally here too, so I'm writing this post today as "an experienced mommy;" having dredged through the depths of the maternity ward and back ;)  So without further ado, here's "What's in My Hospital Bag", and a few tips on what I learned while spending 3 long days in the hospital :)  I literally agonized for weeks over what to pack in my hospital bag. I researched, I asked friends, I added things and took things out. In the end, I didn't use a lot of what I packed. So I've consolidated this post down to what I actually used while in the hospital :)   My absolute MUST HAVE clothing items included a soft and stylish birthing gown (This was so much more comfortable than the smock they give you in the hospital, and much cuter!) and comfy maternity/nursing pajamas for recovery. Happy Holidays, friends. My favorite time of the year is finally upon us.. Tis' the season for family, friends and festivity! We threw a Holiday Brunch at our home this past weekend, and invited family over for tasty treats, and lots of laughs :)  I was so excited to decorate our dining room with Christmas cheer, and set up a gorgeous holiday tablescape using affordable decor from Walmart ! I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Walmart.com Home had a ton of beautiful dinnerware to choose from!  (um have you seen the new Pioneer Woman line?! give. me. EVERYTHING.)  I chose The Pioneer Woman Paige Crackle Glaze Plate Set & Better Homes and Gardens Snowflake Plates for my place settings. I loved the farmhouse simplicity of the Pioneer Woman dinnerware coupled with the festive metallic accent of the snowflakes.. holiday perfection. December is finally upon us! Tis the season for friends, family and of course, delicious food :) We threw a festive holiday brunch for our family this past weekend, and this easy ham & cheese quiche was a big hit!  This was literally my first time ever making a quiche (admittedly, I'm lacking the Betty Crocker gene) and I was surprised at how easy this was to make, not to mention, really tasty!  EASY HAM & CHEESE QUICHE (serves 8) Ingredients 1 (9 inch) refrigerated pie crust, softened as directed on box 2 tbsp butter 1/4 onion, minced 1 tsp garlic, minced 1 cup half and half 4 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (4 oz) 1/4 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper 1 tsp paprika Directions Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
