My Nighttime Makeup Removal Routine
hi Beauties!
Hope that everyone is enjoying this gorgeous springtime weather! :)
I'd like to start off by apologizing for being so mia the last few weeks, this pregnancy is really kicking my booty!
Considering that sleep has become my middle name since becoming pregnant, I figured there was no better time than now to share a little secret with you all....
I sleep NAKED.
That's right beauties, not a single stitch of makeup touches this girl's feather pillow at night!
Recently I was presented with the exciting opportunity to partner with Swisspers for their #SleepNaked campaign and National Sleep Naked Night Socialthon.
Ladies, there are SO many benefits to sleeping "naked" aka. sans makeup. Removing makeup properly at night greatly reduces the risk of acne vulgaris, blackheads, wrinkles, clogged pores, dirty pillowcases and regret. No, seriously.
So today I wanted to share something a little different with ya'll. Rather than showing you how I apply my makeup in the morning, I'm going to share how I remove it all each night!
So ladies, let's take it all off ;)
My Nighttime Makeup Removal Routine
Step 1 :
Pull that hair back!
I like to use a no-tug hair tie and pile my hair into some sort of bun on top of my head.
(My husband calls it "the croissant bun"... yes, my hair ends up like this so often that the hairstyle has earned its own name around here lol)

Step 2 :
Open your awesome pack of Swisspers cotton rounds.. how fun and sexy is this new packaging?!
Apply a dime sized amount of makeup remover to your Swisspers cotton round (make sure it's eye safe!) and GENTLY remove makeup from your eye lids and surrounding area. I like to use Paula's Choice Gentle Makeup Remover for this step. Always keep in mind that the skin around the eye is some of the thinnest on your body, so be very delicate.
Step 3 :
Step 3 :
Apply a quarter sized amount of makeup remover or cleanser to a fresh new Swisspers cotton round and use it to gently remove the makeup from the rest of your face. I like to use Paula's Choice Gentle Makeup Remover in the warmer months, and Ponds Cold Cream in the winter.
Step 4 :
If it's been a super long night, there might not be a step 4 in my routine ;) but typically I will follow up with a gentle cleanser all over my face, which I rinse with warm water and pat dry. For this final step, I like to use Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skin.
Step 5 :
Crawl into those cool sheets and let your fresh, naked and SAFE face hit the pillow! aaah doesn't it just feel so much better?!
