Building Our First House - Granite, Appliances & Mistakes!

Happy Fall Beauties!

I hope you all have been enjoying this gorgeous weather. I absolutely love this time of year, and am looking forward to spending it in our new home!
Our sales agent contacted us last week with the official times for our walk through and settlement, and to our surprise, we are still scheduled to settle on our estimated date of October 11th! We are SO relieved and excited!
*knocks on wood* just in case ;]

As you all know,  A LOT of exciting additions to our new house occurred last week, if you want to see pictures of everything,

We saw some great progress this past week, but also noticed a few mistakes that we had to note with our builder. We had mismatched marble on the fireplace, a missing outdoor electrical outlet, incorrect pendant lights in the kitchen, and the garbage disposal was installed on the wrong side of the sink. My husband and I usually visit our home a few times a week to check on progress; I highly recommend that anyone building a home do the same. It's important to mention mistakes as early on as possible. Lucky for us though, we have a very meticulous supervisor and a few of the errors had already been noted.

On a positive note, we now have granite in the kitchen, a fireplace, concrete driveway, painted trim, closet racks and appliances ! They also already added the missing electrical outlet on the front porch, and replaced the mismatched marble on the fireplace. Phew, they work fast!
Here are a few updated pictures of our house...

We also started our first big DIY project this weekend! If you follow me on Facebook & Instagram you've already seen photos, but my dad and husband have been busy at work creating an upholstered headboard and wooden bed frame for our master bedroom! I'm so blessed to have talented men in my life! ;) I've been taking photos to document the process, which I will share once it's complete!
