Building Our First House - Our Lighting Choices
Hi Beauties.
Hope everyone's having a fabulous week! Thank you all for the love on my last "Building Our First Home: Exterior Color Choices" post! I'm flattered that you guys liked our selections! :) If you didn't have a chance to see them yet, be sure to check out my post Here: Building Our First House ~ Exterior Color Choices
Today, I'm going to be sharing our interior and exterior lighting choices! We decided to upgrade the lighting on the first floor of the home where we will be entertaining our guests (foyer, dining, living, kitchen, powder room). On the second floor we opted for standard lighting. I actually much preferred the style of the standard lighting for both the master and hall bath vs. the pavilion collection, which I found a bit too "scrolly" for a less formal setting. Our hallway lighting and exterior lighting are also standard, and I actually rather like them!
As far as additional upgrades, we added a recessed lighting package in our kitchen ( 4 recessed lights around the island, and 2 pendant lights over the island). We also added 4 recessed lights in our living room; they are on a dimmer switch so it will be nice to adjust them as we like, for movies etc. Lastly, we added a recessed light over the bath/shower in the hallway bathroom, upon suggestion of our color coodinator (She had warned us it tends to get dark in the shower with only the vanity lights over the sink).

This is sooo interesting ... I am in the lighting business and work in a showroom. Crazy to see how it's done in different places. ( it's also a little sad I looked at your lights and new part numbers and manufacture names)
ReplyDeleteLol . Happens after doing this for 12 years.

My husband is active duty army so we won't be doing it for a while yet but THIS is exactly how we want to do it! I just love your selections on EVERYTHING so far and I am so excited to see the finished house!
